    Looked at the weather forecast for the next week and things look good for a 2/11 meetup. Looking forward to it!

    In addition to our usual conversation, I heard a comment a few weeks back that I thought would be great to include in our Brene Brown discussion.

    The comment was (and believe it or not, I think it's attributable to Groucho Marx lol)..."If you can feign sincerity, you've got it made". Admittedly, that comment took my breath away when I heard it, and made me think of the book we are reading this month. Let's definitely fold it into our discussion to see if people agree or disagree. Just a quick run down of next weeks meetup:

    Hello Everyone! As I mentioned on Carol's post I was duped (lol) by the weather forecast for the Jan meetup so for Feb, I will push to keep the 2/11 meeting. The 2/18 alternate will only be in place if the roads are truly hazardous by 3PM on 2/11. I may have called it a bit early this last time, but I did want to give our members plenty of notice. I really missed getting together with everyone and very much look forward to our Feb gathering!

      Hi Carol, that is fine. Since I cancelled Jan (I was duped by the Chicago weather reports lol) I will push to keep the 2/11 meeting date.     Two updates for Feb. I am canceling the Jan meetup due to weather. The Feb meetup will start with a brief discussion of our Jan book and then focus on Daring Greatly. If you haven't read the Jan selection that is ok, again we will briefly cover it and move on to Daring Greatly.

    The second update is that winter meetups can be challenging to schedule because as we know, Chicago weather is ever changing. If we have bad weather on the Feb 11th, I will change the Feb meetup date to Feb 18th so we don't get too far behind with our reading discussions.

      Hi Maryellen we will be glad to have you come and I completely understand that life just gets busy. Mostly I have been gauging attendance and membership stats over the last couple of months because it really does help to know who is really active vs being a ghost member lol. I've been a ghost member for other groups and now I try not to do that so those groups leaders can get better analytics for their groups ;>.

    In a couple of other past meetups we have had, we've had some interesting and insightful discussions on children and social isolation (much of that having to do with social media). Brene talks about a different sort of isolation for adults and how that impacts how we live. I am very much looking forward to everyone's thoughts on this book!
