Tell us about yourself.

I am happily married and have a son who just graduated from college. I am very active and enjoy running, biking, canoeing, hiking and skiing. I love the outdoors and camping (occasionally!) and my husband and I take frequent trips on his motorcycle. I enjoy wine and am studying for my sommelier certification. I also am a writer and own a social media firm that helps small businesses market themselves. And finally, I have been a personal trainer and wellness coach for over 15 years. And I love cats.

What type of books do you like to read?

I enjoy both fiction and non-fiction, but mostly books that provoke thought and challenge your existing beliefs and viewpoints. I love Malcolm Gladwell & Jeffery Toobin, the Atlantic and the New Yorker magazine. While the occasional fun read is relaxing and great, I enjoy books that stir my emotions and teach my something new. Past books that I've loved include The Room by Emma Donaghue, Freedom by Jonathan Franzen, Midwives by Chris Bohjalian, Freakonomics, Miss Timmons School for Girls, The Orphan Masters Son, A Fine Balance by Rohinton Mistry, anything by Jhumpa Lahiri, and Cutting for Stone (our first book selection). But I've also absolutely loved biographies by Keith Richards and Ozzy Ozbourne - go figure.

Our expectation is that members will attend at least 3 to 4 of our book club meetups a year, as it's difficult for a book club to thrive without participation. Do you have the time and desire to participate on that level?

Are you interested in only attending the book club, or are you open to other social activities too? No wrong answers for this, it just helps me gauge whether people in our group are looking to make new friends or just want the book club experience.

I love life, being active, and the outdoors! I am a wellness/fitness coach & also own a social media firm for small businesses. I like to read, cook, drink wine, have thought provoking conversations, ride on my husband's motorcycle, and travel!
