March Topanga Wordpress Meetup

Join us for our monthly Topanga Wordpress Meetup. All users are invited to attend this meeting to share, collaborate and discuss all things Wordpress.

We are excited to host two great talks this month! Don't miss out, it's going to great meetup!

TOPICS AND SPEAKERS

I. Twitter Bootstrap, What's the Big Fuss?

Roy Sivan of GuavaWorks will share his love for Bootstrap, a sleek, intuitive, and powerful mobile first front-end framework for faster and easier web development.

Have you worked with Twitter Bootstrap to create a theme? Do you use a theme that utilizes Twitter Bootstrap and have no idea what that means? I will explain how to start a theme from scratch using the latest Twitter Bootstrap, and some tips/tricks for those already using themes built with it as a foundation.

II. Understanding Sass with Suzette Franck

If you are a theme developer, using SASS or Syntactically Awesome Stylesheets is a time saving way to write your code and it is easy to learn once you are familiar with CSS. In this session, you will learn how to harness the power of variables, nesting, and mixins and take advantage of everything that SASS has to offer to write awesome code. In order to get the most from this session, you must have a good understanding of HTML and CSS. Join Suzette as she shares her wealth of experience with our group.
