Dinner and Discussion at Empire Szechuan Village

Last time, everyone seemed to enjoy Empire Szechuan Village, so let's go there again. We had a great discussion on "guilt," with many insights and personal reflections. Let's revisit the broad category of "Human Emotions" one more time, from which we will select one topic. Here are a few more specific topic suggestions:

1. Why are some people compassionate, and others less so?

2. What makes you trust someone?

3. What is at the root of jealousy?

4. Is there any positive aspect(s) of anger?

5. Is love a human invention? How about lust?

6. Why is it that some people can't help worrying?

We'll vote on a specific topic at the meetup. A $3 contribution to cover Meetup fees would be appreciated!

Scoville scale. That's the units of heat for peppers – my end of the table.

Even though side conversation broke out here and there, I'm touched how everyone makes more than an effort to (but actually does) listen to whomever is speaking, and to really digest their comment and make the most of it. The side conversations are the natural byproducts of people really engaged and interested. Good job, Leslie.

Enjoyed the good company, good food and interesting dialogue :) and sometimes monologue :( about the subject of jealousy. Thoughtful imput! Thanks, all.

No one voted for it. The koch brothers forced it upon us.

Dinner and discussion meetup was really enjoyable and nice as usual with Leslie and everyone. It was nice to meet some new people too. I sat between Ronnie and Paul who I had never met before and they were both lovely.

I wouldn't go so far as to consider Paul "lovely". You must have meant Bonnie.

I hate to miss Leslie's get togethers- the company is great, but I'll be occupied. But I'll be back in September.
