This is a group for vegans who live the vegan lifestyle in the state of West Virginia for personal health and fitness reasons, ethical reasons, or environment protection reasons. We are based out of Huntington WV and welcome guests who may be curious about it or willing to dip their toes in veganism or just want to eat plant strong and whole foods occasionally. Everyone is welcome to attend, regardless of background and where they are on the path to an all plant-based diet). We intend to create community through potluck get togethers. Members will bring a dish to feed 8 other individuals. Please ensure the food you being is free of milk, cheese, jogurt (all dairy), eggs, seafood, fish, and meat (no gelatin). Please label your dish with the ingredients it contains (especially concerning gluten free, nuts , honey, or oil content). The idea is to share recipes, get new ideas, and provide a supportive environment to educate each other. Please bring your own place setting, dish, cutlery and containers to take left overs home. :). At each potluck we will spend 5 min to briefly go over a relevant topic of interest. Good sources of recipes for me are blogs or facebook pages or cookbooks like : fatfreevegan, engine2 diet, meal mentor meal plans, meatless athlete , minimalist baker, Rich Roll podcast, Heather Nicholds holistic nutritionist , 'oh she glows' cookbook, etc.
