A wonderful walk for a lovely bank holiday, hosted by Hon
Hon is really friendly and everyone will be welcome.
This is a famous walk and one to tick of our lists. Even if you have done this before it is always different.
Meeting up in the “Pont ar Daf” car park which I believe is on the Cardiff side of the Storey Arms. The GPS co-ordinates for this car park are –[masked],[masked] I will update this more if I get any further confirmation but it is the carpark just past Storey Arms
IMPORTANT - Make sure you have more than enough layers to keep warm, water and all the hiking basics.
Wear, base layers, t-shirt, long leave shirt etc, base layers rather than one thick layer, you can then remove and add as required as it gets cold up the top with a wind chill.
A hat, scarf and gloves
Bring a torch (spare batteries)
Walking shoes (if not comfortable shoes with grip and protection.
Under layers and a waterproof jacket as it does get quite windy up the top.
Food like flapjacks, fruit with water and a hot drink in a flask if you want
Also a camera to make sure you get some amazing shots of the beautiful views.
We will be doing the "tourist route" so it's not the storey arms route. That is more of an incline.
The route we are taking is just down from storey arms (around 300 meters down.
The main track is broad and well made, obviously used to thousands of walking boots. The route was straightforward and relatively easy
It’s pretty steep coming down from Corn Du but we will be doing walk up the route from Pont ar Daf so the easiest route by far.
Couples, singles, all ages please come along, you can bring a friend or friends, partner and family members if you wish, just click +1 or more on the rsvp. If this is your first time, there is no need to be shy, I am really easy going and the members are so open and welcoming, as people tell us, we are really inclusive. You will be introduced so you will not be alone and what a better night to come along
