Do you own your own equipment (board, paddle, PFD)?

I have an intention to buy a board and car rack this summer (2017).

How long have you been SUPing? How would you characterize your SUP level and experience?

About three years. Lots of renting in different locations, mostly north shore/ Cape Ann SUP but also greater Boston. I've taken classes in SUP race/fitness, paddle surf, and surfing.

What would you like to get from membership in this group? (e.g. fun outings, practice and skill improvement, serious race training?)

I have had thoughts about starting a North Shore SUP club but if I could find a social group of already established SUP interested poeple I would be happy. I am not competitive or interested in racing but I love recreational paddling, exploring new places to paddle, and love paddle surfing. I'm also all for SUP safety/ good leadership. I'm willing to be involved in co-hosting events.

Can you suggest some great paddling locations north and west of Boston? Any interest in organizing/leading a paddle at a favorite spot?

Mostly because I rent I have done stuff with Cape Ann SUP. The Essex River is a great spot and their adult paddle surf classes last August were a blast. I think it would be fun to generate a list of best places to paddle north of Boston and go explore but I'm a little intimidated going at it alone.

Anything else you’d like to tell us about yourself or anything you’d like to add?

I'd like to find more of a SUP community this summer.

What Renee is saying about this Meetup Group

Wish we had more going on. It's great when someone can show you a new place to paddle.
