Those who meditate in groups often report feelings of greater connectedness and have a deeper meditation experience than when they practice on their own. Join our growing community of like-minded friends who gather weekly to learn about the many benefits of meditation. Experience a variety of meditation techniques (including concentrative, open awareness, and mindfulness); learn the ingredients that every meditation requires, the importance of posture, essentials for cultivating a successful daily practice, and how to work with hindrances that can arise. Discover how you can bring insights gained from the cushion into your daily life to experience healthier and happier relationships with yourself and the world! All levels and traditions are warmly welcomed. "Mindfulness meditation has allowed me to sit and be quiet for the present moment; to become aware of my breath. I am calmer, more patient, reduces my stress and my worries. It gives me greater balance of my thoughts and not conditioned to react to all the senses around me. SOHUM's meditation classes give me peace of mind; with practice and some discipline, it will be on-going for my life." - Wendy Lisa Campbell, certified Meditation and Mindfulness Instructor, Course Advisor for the McLean Meditation Institute, US Air Force veteran, and founder of Mindfulfilled Meditation, LLC, loves that that peace is her profession. Lisa is committed to providing a safe, truthful, and respectful space for everyone on the journey of self-discovery. Every time we see a giggling baby or an innocent child full of laughter, we're reminded that we are all born with this natural and innate sense of happiness, that it is actually our birthright. We learn about suffering or unhappiness as we grow older and as circumstances change. Yoga and Meditation can help you connect with that place of inner happiness within yourselves. This Day Retreat will be offered at the Unity Farm Sanctuary which is a non-profit farm animal rescue organization. It includes horses, cows, goats, pigs, donkeys, alpaca/llama, and poultry. They work together with the community on topics such as farm animal care, sustainable organic farming practices, the power of kindness, and volunteerism with the hope to extend the impact for positive change for animals and people alike. They are located only 30 mins away from Westborough in the beautiful, wooded town of Sherborn. This Fall, let’s practice yoga and meditation together and discover the joy within. The yoga practice will be offered indoors in a beautiful, bright room with Ritu Kapur. We will meditate under a tree on the beautiful grounds of the farm (weather permitting) with Lisa Campbell while we listen to the sounds of birds, falling leaves and ducks around us. We will also get a private tour of the farm and hear stories about the rescued farm animals after the lunch break. Space is loving but limited to 10 people so please register early. A home-made vegetarian lunch will be provided. Contact Ritu Kapur at[masked] with any Q. and to get early-bird discount as a member of this Meetup group.
