What we’re about

Welcome to the Nassau/Suffolk County Board Games meetup group (formerly the Untitled Board Gaming Alliance). This is for those who live in Nassau and Suffolk Counties on Long Island along with surrounding sections of the New York metro area that are interested in board gaming.

Currently there is one section that meets at the Bethpage Public Library in Bethpage, Nassau County on Long Island on Thursdays from 5 to 9 PM.

Playing games is a good way to engage in good, wholesome fun while exercising the brain and gaining insights into others through socialization. Growing up, most of us played children’s games (ex: Candyland, Sorry, Connect Four) and classic games (ex: Checkers, Chess, Scrabble, Monopoly). Gaming has truly evolved since then, with an increase in volume of games/categories created along with an increase in complexity and sophistication of rules and strategies. Examples of categories include word, party/social, card, strategy, Euro, cooperative, social deduction, and role playing.

Experienced along with new gamers are welcome. If you are new, there will be others who bring games and will teach you.

Information about COVID-19 requirements, the venue and time allotted, protocol, what to expect, and examples of games played can be found on the home page of each event.

Note: If there are any questions or issues, please either post a comment either in the Discussions section of the group , message board of the event, or send a private message to myself, David (Organizer).
