Hello from Chris!

Hi everyone, remember me? This is Chris, the original founder of the Westchester Acoustic Guitar Group who has since moved away

First let me say I hope you, your family and your friends all got through Hurricane Sandy ok, or, "ok enough" at least. Some people got really hit hard and it will take a long time to recover.

But I just wanted to say a quick hi from Berlin to let you all know I'm settling in over here slowly but surely. Berlin is such an amazing city, so much history to explore and such an active culture, tons of things to check out. I'm the organizer of an acoustic guitar group here but we haven't met yet, I've been too busy to really push things along with it. I am, though, very active with a Social Events group I took over from someone who stepped down after they built it up for a year, that's a lot of fun so far. But I definitely look back wistfully on the W.A.G.M., and its great to seeing its still going strong.

Which brings me to make a suggestion - please raise a hand to help Guy out - the group initially had 3 very active organizers (me, Spencer and Steve) and we put a lot of work into finding locations and running the first four years of events. Poor Guy may be running himself ragged these days trying to fill in 3 pairs of big shoes by himself. So please, if you have an inkling to take a more active role, or can scout out and/or recommend some new places for the group to meet, please do. Don't think for a second you'd be looked on as "presumptuous" or anything like that - as we all know if a group does not have new generations of leadership then it can't survive.

Something you may not know is that you can be the "Event Host" one night without taking on the responsibilities of being an Assistant Organizer. Bonnie did this one night and we all thank her for this. By being an Event Host you can rise up one night to do that "80s One Hit Wonder Band" night you always wanted to then immediately slink back into a peaceful backseat role afterwards. Please talk to Guy about it and also mention any ideas for a theme night you may have.

I sincerely wish all of you the best, and as my first teacher would say, "Just Play!"
