COUNTERPOINT is an all-female singing group based in Westchester County, founded in June 2016.   We rehearse on Monday nights from 7:00 to 9:00 pm.

We perform original arrangements of popular songs in a variety of styles, incorporating complex rhythms and beautiful harmonies.  We also sing an annual holiday program at the end of the year.  Many of our songs are performed a cappella but we include instruments on some songs to add new sounds and textures. The group has a committed membership.  We have performed full shows in various small venues and we've also sung at several local events and fundraisers, including Jessica Lynn's "A Very Merry Country Christmas."  We are working toward releasing recordings of our arrangements.  If you are interested in joining, you must commit to attending rehearsals regularly.

We are looking for singers who can read music and have experience in a singing group or choir.  We work from written arrangements, so you must be able to read and understand music notation.  Also, you must have experience singing with an a cappella group or a classical choir, or other similar ensemble.

New members are accepted by audition only.  If you are interested in auditioning, please apply to join the Meetup group and answer the application questions. Also please write a message and submit your email address on the Contact Us page of our website, and our director will contact you to schedule an audition.
