Western Slope Adventurers Pages

The Western Slope Adventurers is all about having fun outdoors (and some in-town, indoor stuff too as members wish) with like-minded individuals. Our outings are not "guided" but rather, they are "shared"; one person may say 'hey, I want to go do . . . whatever it may be . . . and I would like others to go along. All members are invited to suggest outings and activities for the calendar. The way is set up the Organizer and Assistant Organizers actually place events on the calendar. After you have done a few activities with the group, if you would like to be an AO so you can post outings to the calendar, we will probably say YES with enthusiasm. We want to be about inclusion, encouragement, learning, growing and FUN.

You are encouraged to get ACTIVE in the group. MeetUps are about just that, actively meeting up with others with shared interests. I started a meetup group in Anchorage, Alaska in spring 2007. It has generated over 3000 activities as of July 2011. That is active! I do not expect we will charge with that vigor here right now but ... since you signed up, we sure hope you will be ACTIVE.

This message will grow and morph as members get to know one another and we see what kinds of things folks want to do together. For now, welcome and since you are here, take a moment to look at the calendar and RSVP Yes to an outing or event. Then, please be sure to show up. When it comes to outdoor skills or fitness or social skills and fitness, please feel welcome to bend and stretch your personal limits. Exceed your own expectations - we will be supportive and encouraging in you doing that.

Western Colorado is a great place to live and we will meetup up to share it and make it even better, for ourselves, our group and and larger community.
