Where on the Western Slope do you live? how long have you been there? Where did you come here from? How did you learn about the WSA group and why did you join? Do you plan to be an "Active" member or is WSA just one more web registration for you?

Been in Grand Junction since end of 2002. We moved here from the east. I love hiking and meeting new people. I'm actively involved in a variety of things in GJ including GJ Newcomers Club (great social club even for long-time residents), and volunteering for the BLM (giving back).

How and about what time in life did you get started with outdoor recreation? What are a few of your favorite outdoor activities?

As a kid I went camping, hiking and downhill skiing with my family. I continue to love those sports and have expanded to include cross-country skiing and snowshoeing.

What is the most challenging hike, bike, backpack, 14er, canyoneering, ski/snowshoe, river trip or other outing you've ever done? How or why was that; and, would you do that or something similar again?

We hiked 272 miles in the French Pyrenees in 24 days with about 73,000 feet of elevation gain. The first week was a killer and after that it was a blast.

Where is the most scenic place you have ever slept in a tent, walked or biked on a trail or travelled by paddle or oar down a river?

We once camped by the edge of the Grand Canyon at Toroweap, but they don't let you camp there anymore.

After you've been on a few events with us, what kind of event might you be willing to to initiate and share with fellow WSA adventurers? Organize a hike? road or mtn bike ride? an evening on the river? a ski or snowshoe on Grand Mesa? Or... ?

I like challenging off-trail hikes that explore the wonders of our public lands.
