Where on the Western Slope do you live? how long have you been there? Where did you come here from? How did you learn about the WSA group and why did you join? Do you plan to be an "Active" member or is WSA just one more web registration for you?

Having lived in Western Colorado and the Redlands area for over 25 years, I've canyoneered and hiked many of the local canyons. I moved here from Evergreen, Colo. Before that I grew up in San Francisco, Calif.

How and about what time in life did you get started with outdoor recreation? What are a few of your favorite outdoor activities?

I love the outdoors..any activity. Skiing, cross-country skiing, biking, hiking, rock climbing, canyoneering, rafting, kayaking, checking out ruins in Utah, camping and horseback trips.

What is the most challenging hike, bike, backpack, 14er, canyoneering, ski/snowshoe, river trip or other outing you've ever done? How or why was that; and, would you do that or something similar again?

The Via Ferrata in Telluride was a challenge the first time I traversed across it but now, after a few times I feel confident to lead it. The Locomotion and Krill route in the Fiery Furnace is always a challenge.

Where is the most scenic place you have ever slept in a tent, walked or biked on a trail or travelled by paddle or oar down a river?

I love to kayak the Gunnison Gorge, Glenwood Canyon, Roaring Fork, Yampa and Green Rivers. Hiking along the ridge above the ocean in Hawaii is probably the most scenic area I have ever seen, breathtakingly beautiful!

After you've been on a few events with us, what kind of event might you be willing to to initiate and share with fellow WSA adventurers? Organize a hike? road or mtn bike ride? an evening on the river? a ski or snowshoe on Grand Mesa? Or... ?

I love to hunt for Indian ruins in Utah. I could take folks to some amazing places near Bluff and Cedar Mesa, Utah. There are so many adventures to be shared!

Count me in for the adventures! Laney
