FINDING VIVIAN MAIER @ Landmark, Sunday, 4/6, 5:30 PM

Who is Vivian Maier? Now considered one of the 20th century's greatest street photographers, Vivian Maier was a mysterious nanny who secretly took over 100,000 photographs that went unseen during her lifetime. Since buying her work by chance at auction, amateur historian John Maloof has crusaded to put this prolific photographer in the history books. Maier's strange and riveting life and art are revealed through never-before-seen photographs, films, and interviews with dozens who thought they knew her.

Tickets: Available at Landmark's Website. I'm in J1.

Well-made, engaging movie. Such a mysterious and sad life BUT I really want to see her work. Hope they bring her photos back to LA.

I have my ticket, looking forward to this movie.....And I just received notice that one of my historical architecture groups is holding the 1st membership meeting of the season at the same time with a tour through one of the homes. So, I may not make it to the movie :-(

Hi Lindsie, are we going to buy seats together just before the movie? Or should I buy a ticket online now?

    April 4, 2014

    • Lindsie

I'm never sure how many people will go to a movie, so I always buy my ticket in advance, just in case it sells out. It's not necessary that we all sit together, so don't worry about that. We always find time after the movie, usually at dinner, to talk about it.

I would love to see this as I read about this nanny and it sounds fascinating. But I am going to brunch in Santa Monica. If it ends on time I will definitely grab a ticket and see you all there
