Lauren Beale carried on the Los Angeles Times’ long-standing tradition of breaking celebrity real estate news in the Hot Property blog and print column. She was intrigued by the chase and the homes; the celebrities, less so.
The life-long journalist also penned the popular Home of the Week feature. She attended the 2016 NAHB International Builders’ Show in Las Vegas this January to stay up on the latest design trends.
At a recent count she had 6,800-plus Twitter followers at @LATHotProperty and is on LinkedIn and Instagram.
Among honors she received during her 38-year newspaper career were the Los Angeles Times Editorial Award for Best Blog in 2015; National Assn. of Real Estate Editors Awards for Best Feature Writer in 2013 and Best Real Estate Section in 2001; and the Los Angeles Times Team Coverage Pulitzer Prize for Spot News, 1994 Northridge Earthquake.
Covering the luxury housing beat for Business, the former Real Estate editor has trod many a polished marble floor. She left The Times at the end of 2015.
Gregory Hebner has been actively involved in residential real estate investing for 25 years. Since that time, he has been involved in over 600 different transactions and over $300M of transaction value.
Greg founded Community Rebuild Partners (“CRP”), LLC in 2011 and serves as its Managing Director and Chief Investment Officer. Since its founding, CRP has completed over 240 residential fix and flip investments, primarily in California, and deployed over $140M of capital towards this strategy. Currently, its primary focus is substantial repositioning of residential properties in affluent or improving neighborhoods and CRP. Over this period, CRP has averaged over 10% cash on cash margins on completed investments and has generated over $10M of profits for investors from its’ fix and flip investments.
Since 2012, Greg has also been a Managing Director of Arixa Capital Advisors, LLC and Crosswind Financial. In this capacity, Mr. Hebner sits on the investment committee of all Arixa and Crosswind Funds, while also managing the loan origination efforts of the firm.
Greg received his M.B.A. from Harvard University and a B.S. in Accountancy from the University of Illinois. Greg proudly served in the United States Marine Corps.
