• Let's see What's for Dinner? @ JJ Dynasty in Oakdale

    • Expect to meet a very friendly group of people age 50+! Hi, I am Rena, the organizer of the new "What's for Dinner" meetup group and I am looking forward to managing it, hopefully with your help and suggestions. I want to welcome all new members to this group of friendly people. If you have any suggestions, please let me know. What I am hoping for is of course good food and service along with ample parking. Also, the ability for each restaurant to take reservations and to accommodate whatever our size group is. Let's all look forward to visiting some wonderful affordable venues within the Western Suffolk and Eastern Nassau areas. • The bill will be settled by adding your items (before tax & tip) and then multiplying by 1.3, this will give your total which will include tax and tip. • There is a limit of attendees of 20 or less according to how many the venue can accommodate with a reservation. It is hard to have a big crowd at some restaurants and it is a lot of work finding restaurants that take reservations for large groups. If anyone knows of any, please let me know (by message) where and who to get in touch with along with their phone #. Please be sure that you already spoke to someone at the venue and received a definite favorable response from them. *** If you are on the waitlist, please note that sometimes members need to cancel at almost the last minute, so you may get a late notification that you've been put on the "Going" list. If you know that you can not attend, please change your RSVP to NO. which will take you off the waitlist. Thanks!!!!! http://www.jjdynasty.com/

  • Let's Go See - Urinetown @ The Boulton Center in Bay Shore!!!

YMCA Boulton Center For The Performing Arts

Winner of three Tony Awards, three Outer Critics Circle Awards, two Lucille Lortel Awards and two Obie Awards, Urinetown is an hilarious musical satire of the legal system, capitalism, social irresponsibility, populism, bureaucracy, corporate mismanagement, municipal politics and musical theatre itself! Hilariously funny and touchingly honest, Urinetown provides a fresh perspective on one of America's greatest art forms. In a Gotham-like city, a terrible water shortage, caused by a 20-year drought, has led to a government-enforced ban on private toilets. The citizens must use public amenities, regulated by a single malevolent company that profits by charging admission for one of humanity's most basic needs. Amid the people, a hero decides that he's had enough and plans a revolution to lead them all to freedom! Inspired by the works of Bertolt Brecht and Kurt Weill, Urinetown is an irreverently humorous satire in which no one is safe from scrutiny. Praised for reinvigorating the very notion of what a musical could be, Urinetown catapults the "comedic romp" into the new millennium with its outrageous perspective, wickedly modern wit and sustained ability to produce gales of unbridled laughter. https://ci.ovationtix.com/50/production/1008018?performanceId=10392654 Tickets are on $27.00 You can click on the above link to purchase your ticket(s). I got Row A - Seat 112 Guests are permitted for this event! Cross Posted with "The Diner" meetup group.
