  • Saturday Open Boardgaming (1pm-midnight, Cinco de Quatro)

    Ryan and Liz's House

Join us for board gaming near the Wheaton metro. Potluck food and drink. New folks are welcome. We'll teach you some games. It's Cinco de Quatro, so in the grand tradition of Newport Beach, if folks want to have some Margaritas or something, that could be good. Also, May the 4th be with us. So you know, mixed messages and themes. *There's a baby in the household - she doesn't spend much time around the boardgaming, but please make extra sure to look around for stray (delicious) game pieces when you're putting stuff up. *We'll probably do a joint dinner order (Panda Wok) for anyone interested. To cover tax, tip, and delivery fee, I ask for order price + 25% by cash or Paypal. *Don't hesitate to joint the waitlist (if there is one) - it usually moves 3-7 spaces on Thursday-Saturday morning. *Please rsvp if you're planning to make it. *We'll have some snacks and drinks but food is mostly potluck. Bottles with screw tops are recommended to cut down the risk of spills. If folks are interested, we sometimes do a joint food delivery order. Make sure to bring cash or have Paypal on your smartphone if you might want to get in on a food order. *Please update your rsvp as soon as you can if you realize you can't make it, especially if we're at or close to the rsvp limit. *The house is a very short walk from the Wheaton metro. Take the exit off of the metro on the right. Walk forward then turn right. The exit will be on your left. Then follow this map: https://imgur.com/a/iyt3Y *If you are parking, the Amherst Garage is cheap (free?) and nearby and there are other good options too. Be sure to to obey parking laws - the parking immediately in front of the house is permit only. *This is a pet/drug/smoke free household. *Feel free to show up after the start time but if you know ahead of time you're going to, it's great if you can post around when you're planning to make it. *This Meetup is generally meant to stick to the main floor of the house, which has a living room, kitchen, dining room, and bathroom, so please don't go up or down stairs without asking one of the hosts. *The host boardgame library is listed here: https://boardgamegeek.com/collection/user/Coolmew?gallery=large&subtype=boardgame&own=1&ff=1

I'll start collecting orders at around 1pm with the plan to submit the order at around 1:45pm so we'll be able to get those sweet lunch special prices. To cover tax, tip, and delivery fee I ask for order price + 25% by cash or Paypal. *Don't hesitate to joint the waitlist (if there is one) - it usually moves 3-7 spaces on Thursday-Saturday morning. *Please rsvp if you're planning to make it. *We'll have some snacks and drinks but food is mostly potluck. Join members of the Baltimore Science Fiction Society as we embark on the second fifty years of Balticon, the premier non-profit, fan-run Science Fiction Convention in the Mid-Atlantic region. I'll probably be running some Call of Cthulhu one shot games as well as some Ultimate Werewolf and 2 Rooms and a Boom. There's a game room with games to rent and usually gaming is active pretty much the entire convention except for the middle of the night, although some late night games do happen. • Magstock: Nerdy camping w/ games, etc

    Small Country Campground

https://stock.magfest.org/ This event is still in the planning stages, although the date is set. Tickets are probably going to be something like $65 in advance and $75 starting in late May. are likely to sell out at some point (early June?). MAGStock is a 4-day outdoor festival celebrating camping, video games, and video game music. I went last year and had a blast. I'm not big into camping, but this is one of the better versions. The site has electricity and running water for each site, bathrooms with showers, (unusable) wifi, a lake, a pool, a giant moon bounce, etc. This is 72 hours of gaming, drinking, and being in the woods with a couple hundred of your closest nerdy strangers. If this sounds like your thing and you want to get in on talking to the community in advance, let me know and I can send you links to the Facebook group, the Discords, etc. https://stock.magfest.org/ (not updated for 2019 as of Feb 5th 2019; will probably get updated in March). This even is unaffiliated with Wheaton Boardgaming on the Metro, so you definitely don't have to RSVP here if you're going, but we can have a Meetup at the event if there is interest.
