The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints was founded in the early Second Revival by Joseph Smith, a young boy from upstate New York. His story of becoming the 1st modern prophet is one of dedication, sacrifice, and promise. His journey would take him from New York across the plains of a young America to a destiny of martyrdom and Freemasonry. Join us as we discuss the history of the Joseph Smith and how his experience as a Freemason influenced one of the fastest growing Christian churches.
The Masonic Philosophical Society embraces the concept of learning, not for school, but for life, and believes that all men, who seek it, deserve access to continued education. We further embrace the concept of a community environment, where ideas can be shared and debated in an open forum. From the seven liberal arts to the arcane, we seek to gain and to share the knowledge that is the legacy of mankind.
