• So many theories about personality: which is best?

    Blondini's @ The Embassy

Personality or psychological type theory, as we know it, started nearly a century ago with Carl Jung. Since then it has evolved and branched out. This meetup will help you distinguish between legitimate type theories and their terminology, and those that are based on misconceptions. We will also give you some guidelines as to which assessments to use or not to use. The first of three meetups to help you get the most out of “Type”. We will start with putting it all together, so as to help you navigate through the mountain of information that keeps appearing in the media. There will be time for questions and discussion related to these differences and assessments, but we will leave the big questions about “type” for July. SUNDAY AND MIDWEEK MEETUPS We also meet midweek on a Tuesday. We'll be running the same topic each month on both the Sunday and Tuesday - come to whichever suits.

  • Can we get out of this Escape Room?!!

    Escape Mate

Something a little different... We'll tackle the Escape Room downtown and work together to solve its puzzles, locks and codes! Set in an actual 1930s bank vault, the room houses an alien spacecraft that crashed into Wellington harbour pre-war. Locked away from the public until now, the vault has been opened only to find that the spaceship, sent by extraterrestrial nations to search for inhabitable planets, has been sending a distress signal to an invading alien armada. Work as a team to decrypt the alien technology inside, solve the mysteries, repair the ship's engines and disable the signal that will otherwise doom our civilization. BOOKING YOUR PLACE The cost is $40 per person. When you RSVP please message me (Guy) and I will send you bank account details for payment. Your place will be confirmed once paid :) ABOUT THE ROOM You can read more about the room here - https://escapemate.co.nz/vault/ FAQs - https://escapemate.co.nz/faq/ Please make sure you are there by 2.20pm for the briefing.

  • MIDWEEK: What is consciousness? How does it relate to our personalities?

We are all conscious of our environment, of our choices, of our inner Self and of some of our inner functions. We know who we are, we know what it means to be a person, and many of us know our personality type. But how does that help us in our life? What can we do to become more conscious of our own choices and of others; more conscious of our environment? How do the types differ in that awareness? SUNDAY AND MIDWEEK MEETUPS We also meet midweek on a Tuesday. We'll be running the same topic each month on both the Sunday and Tuesday - come to whichever suits.

  • MIDWEEK: Why do I click with some people and clash with others?

    Blondini's @ The Embassy

Do you clash with your partner, children, siblings or colleagues? Do you struggle to understand why they can’t just act the way they should or understand the way things are? We all clash with other people at times; sometimes exactly those we love and care the most about, and other times complete strangers make us angry. Sometimes the very effort we make to keep the peace or to solve a problem seems to have an adverse effect and we might not even know what happened when things fall apart. Some people even believe they have a personality disorder because they cannot always read others easily and they accept that this means they are broken. But you are not broken. Some types simply don’t understand people’s motivations as easily, and even those who do cannot change who they are. If we were all the same personality, we’d get along fine, of course, but people are not clones, which is a good thing, so come along and let’s talk about who we clash with and why.

  • MIDWEEK: New Year's resolutions: Do you make them? Do you keep them?

Let's talk about New Year's resolutions and find out how your personality type approaches goals. Some have detailed spreadsheets for the next five years, others have an idea of what they want to achieve, and others simply embrace the spontaneity of life. Do you make New Year's resolutions or do you think such goals are arbitrary and pointless? Do you keep your plans to yourself or do you share them? Come along to our first meetup of the year. Everyone is welcome.
