Be the star of your own dance & let the stars watch you shine!!!
• What we'll do Urban Swing Dance (Detroit Ballroom) Lessons This may be your first dance class but it won't be your last. Detroit Ballroom (or whatever swing dance class you take with Who Dat Steppers) is only the format we use to teach you, using the proven scientific techniques of the Universal Unit System created by Swing Dance Legend, author & instructor of champions, Skippy Blair, how to dance, not just how to Detroit Ballroom. Upon completion of this class you will know the basic fundamental principles common to all dance forms. No partner. No problem. You'll be paired up with someone else who didn't bring a partner or you'll share someone else's. (If you or your partner are immature, jealous or insecure, this is not the class for you. Grown & Sexy only please!!!) Both leader & follower learn the patience, mutual respect and non-verbal communication skills that or so lacking in our culture today. More importantly, you'll have a good time doing it!!! Chivalry lives in the Urban Swing Dance Community!!! Men are expected and required to be Gentlemen and Women are expected and required to be ladies. In addition to the mutual admiration & respect found in the Urban Swing Dance community, you'll never have more fun doing any other form of aerobic exercise. It's a low impact, self-paced, lifelong physical activity. There's no age or gender limitations or restrictions. Studies have found that partner dancing prevents the onset of Dementia or the extreme form of the disease, Alzheimer’s. We travel and get Steppers Sharp to attend local, regional & national Urban Swing Dance events. None of us get to choose our parents, gender or ethnicity at birth. Everything else is the result of, or is influence by, culture. You can choose, create and define the values, principles and ethos of any culture you are a part of. Urban Swing Dance is not just a dance, it a life style, a way of life. That's culture in a nutshell, the way you chose to live your life. If you want to change the world and have a good time doing it, learn how to urban swing dance. • What to bring Leather sole or dance shoes. No rubber sole, tennis, sandals, flip flop or flats.
