Our aim is to build a supportive community This group is for anyone interested in a whole foods approach to health, happiness and fitness - mind, body and spirit. Our aim is to create a supportive community that enables people to have fun, meet like-minded people and become healthier by sharing knowledge and experiences with each other. We do focus on eating the rainbow - colourful fruits and vegetables packed with nutrition be they cooked or raw. Whatever your reasons or level of interest in whole cooked and/or raw foods, you are welcomed to join. You do not need to be vegetarian or vegan to join. Curious omnivores are welcomed.
Benefits of a whole foods lifestyle An active whole foods plant based lifestyle is great for your health, wellbeing and longevity, it respects and shows compassion for other species and it helps reduce the adverse impact of human activity on the Planet such as climate change, rainforest destruction, the decline in biodiversity, ocean acidification and pollution.
Social events and activities With these benefits in mind, we will be organising events in and around the North East of England such as potlucks, dining out, lunches, talks, debates, yoga, gong baths, classes, challenges, hikes, picnics and trips. If you have ideas for future events, please do let us know.
Areas and locations We organise events in and around North East of England including Durham, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Northumberland, Sunderland, Hartlepool, Darlington, Teesside, Saltburn-by-the-seas and the surrounding areas. We also organise events to other parts of the UK such as weekend hiking trips, going vegan festivals and day trips to dining out in other towns and cities.
Membership Membership to join the group is free and will remain free. This model is used by the very best and most successfully managed vegan Meetups groups across England, Wales and Scotland. A Meetup site for an unlimited number of members costs only around £138 a year. We have chosen not to pass this cost on to our members. All we ask is that you eat plant-based vegan foods when you attend the group activities. If you know people that may be interested in the group's activity you are welcomed to invite them to join. Our mission is to help develop and evolve a supportive community for people interested in a healthy plant strong and vegan lifestyle. We also do not accept money from sponsors. Sponsors listed are simply restaurants, products and bloggers that we advocate as they offer great whole plant-based nutritional dishes, foods or content. Instead, we partner and collaborate with our group members and third parties to design and organise events. The group makes no profits from events.
As a member, you can also bring along friends to events. Children can attend our events, providing they are accompanied by a parent or a responsible adult.
