As we discussed, I'm scheduling a meetup for us to actually write together. We'll do one or two writing prompts each meetup from Kiteley's book, 3 a.m. Epiphany, or we'll do writing sprints and share our work. We will not be critiquing active personal projects.
In the spirit of positivity, any critique of a participant's writing must take the following form:
• Focus on technique only not preference, i.e., we will not like or dislike any participants piece. Preference isn't relevant.
• Each critique with begin with what worked for you and after that, you can state what didn't work for you. For example:
Jane Doe, you did an exemplary job of incorporating all five senses into your piece. The way you described the sunset was particularly evocative. I will say, however, that the adjectives you chose for the scent in the air was a bit startling for me and threw me out of the story.
