What we're about

“Building new friendships, rebuilding lives”

Are you a Widow or Widower and wanting to make new friends?

Widowed Friends helps support positive changes to the well-being of widow and widowers in our communities through inclusion and friendship. We are not a grief support group, but focus on helping members regain their social connections after loss.

Widowed Friends provides a safe, social atmosphere for widowed people to connect with each other after the loss of a spouse.

We meet up for dinners at local restaurants, gather for weekend potlucks, day trips and overall, socialize with a great group of people.

Members of the group have experienced the loss of a spouse as recently as 6 months to as long as 20+ years ago. Ages of attendees range from the mid 40’s to the early 80's.

To join our community.... Proof of Loss is required prior to Meet Up access. Please email your document to widowedfriendsofhalton@gmail.com within 72 hours of submitting your request to join. Once verified, you will receive a welcome message and have full access to all the events.

Annual Enrolment Fee is $50. Payment of this fee is due on approved access to the Meet up group. Payment can be E Transferred to widowedfriendsofhalton@gmail.com or in person, at your first event.

Widowed Friends Meet Up is a closed group to paid participants only.
