In May on Memorial day, we last walked along Cobbs Creek at 63rd and Market. We found a number of spring and early summer greens. We will have an August meet-up at this same location. on Saturday, August 10. Because of the summer heat, we will begin at 9 instead of 10AM. On our last outing we saw a little shiso, though the plants were small and sparse. I am hoping the shiso will be present in abundance this time. It is one of my favorite wild herbs.
The location is across from a major El stop, on the northwest corner. We will walk along a trail that is parallel to Cobbs Creek. The trail is in a mostly wooded area. The location is very accessible via SEPTA or bicycle. I will have my bike. We can meet there. 9:00AM; our walk will commence at 9:10. We will walk north along the path and then walk back. The meet-up will last about two hours.
