    Day 1 - 2 Fly from UK to Shanghai

    Arrive in Shanghai the largest city in The People's Republic of China and settle into our hotel. Depending on the time of our arrival the rest of the day is ours to begin to soak up the local culture or take a rest. 

    Day 3 

    Visit to Zhujiajilao water town, one of Shanghais sleepy water town built on a canal system to transport goods all over Imperial China. The narrow alleyways exudes old world charm whilst the waterways are lined with ancient buildings and stone bridges . We return to Shanghai to enjoy Shanghai Museum ang explore the people's square. Dinner is a traditional Shanghainese cuisine 

    Day 4 

    In Shanghai east and west collides on streets lined with futuristic buildings and ancient temples, today we will explore the traditional Yu gardens, the atmospheric alleys of the old town, the silk museum, admire the magnificent colonial architecture of the Bund, wander down bustling Nanjing Road and finish the evening off with a view of the city on a cruise down the Huangpu River

    Day 5 - 7 

    Fly to X'ian the 2,000 year old ancient capital. Here we will experience Tang Dynasty Dancing, stroll the beautifully preserved ancient city walls, visit the Terracotta Army, see the X'ian art, ceramics and lacquer exhibition, visit the lovely Wild Goose Pagoda and stroll around the city's Muslim quarter. At the end if day 7 we fly to Bejing

    Day 8 - 10

    Imperial Beijing & The Great Wall

    During this leg of our journey we will explore Tiananmen Square,  framed by the Gate of Heavenly Peace with its portrait of Mao Zedong, Mao's Mausoleum, the Great Hall of the People and the National Museum. 

    See the Forbidden City, former home to China's imperial rulers. We will Admire the oasis of palaces, gardens and seemingly never-ending grand courtyard

    Before our time in China ends we will , spend time ambling along the ancient stone pathways and bell towers that make up the incredible Great Wall of China. We will also spend time savouring the idyllic landscape of the summer palace as we see the traditional Chinese gardens and architecture. 

    No visit would be complete without the chance to try out the best know Chinese delicacy Peking Duck

    Day 10 

    Fly Back to the UK

    This trip does require walking, eg the Wall, please consider its suitibality if you struggle with mobility issues


    China has certain restrictions on certain professions visiting the country, eg, journalists, so, it is your responsibility to find out eligibility, similarly non British passport holders need to find out requirements for their country prior to booking


    This event has been booked through a British  travel Agent who is ABTA bonded

    The cost of the trip is based on 12 people, we will still go ahead with a smaller number but the price may need to increase slightly. In this instance we will let you know before going ahead. Should you change your mind due to a price increase  we will refund your deposit . In all other circumstances deposits are non refundable

    Deposit : £370, by Bank Transfer or £384 via PayPal (includes PayPal fee)

    2nd Payment  - £1300 by Bank Transfer or  £1350 via Paypal - Due by 30th November  2016

    Final Payment - £1300 by Bank Transfer or £1350 via Paypal- Due by 1st February 2017

    Meetup have changed the payment system so we have not put pay when you RSVP. Please note if we have not received payment via PayPal or bank transfer within 2 days of RSVP we will automatically remove you to not attending and if the trip is full you will loose your place.
