Wilderness Corps is for people who enjoy Backpacking, Hiking, Wilderness Stewardship and Trail Maintenance in the beautiful outdoors while socializing with other like-minded individuals. Our main Stewardship Area is the Sierra National Forest (Dinkey Lakes Wilderness). In late 2014 we extended our reach to the Sequoia National Forest. In 2015  we started working in the Sespe Wilderness Mt. Pinos Ranger District of the Los Padres National Forest.   Generally, in the winter we are on the Coast (Los Padres NF) and in the summer we work in the Sierra NF and Sequoia NF (where is cooler).

We offer a variety of activities for people of all ages. We offer front country trips between 5 to 10 miles per day in length to moderate to advanced trips 10 + miles in length per day . These trips are gears towards 1) Keeping public access open and 2) providing wilderness stewardship in the Wilderness Area's we support. This includes Lake Restoration.

Most events will be scheduled on weekends along with the occasional weekday and/or holiday trips. During the summer season there will be a lot of extended trips into the back country. 2017 will be the second year in a row that the USFS has asked Wilderness Corps to clear all the trails of trees in the Dinkey Lakes Wilderness. For those interested in multi-day activities, there will be a lot of  backpacking/camping trips scheduled during the spring, summer, and autumn seasons.

Please register yourself with us here and join our meetup group to get notified of activities.

Hiking and back country travel can be a dangerous and unpredictable activity. It is ALWAYS recommended you bring sufficient supplies of drinking water, snacks/food, a small first aid kit, sunscreen, insect repellent, and a flashlight to all outdoor activities and know your limits. Of equal importance is that you have the proper type of footwear and clothing. Please match the hike to your skill level.

As you join, please read the "About" information under the heading "Pages" on the menu at the top of the Home page. Wilderness Corps is a registered non-profit agency and based out of Monterey, CA.
