Golden Gardens Ponds is an enjoyable one mile barked path around three ponds over on the west end of Eugene. Just right for an evening walk, as the sunsets start to get later. Also, a great place to get pictures of local wildlife.
Logistics: I plan to meet near the park's entrance, next to the sign for the park. We can then take our time and wonder the path while enjoying each others company and maybe take some pictures. i tend to do two laps, one around all three ponds, followed by one lap cutting between the back ponds. A lot of ducks and turtles frequent the ponds, along with the occasional herons.
Driving Directions: From Highway 99 turn onto Barger and head west towards the airport. After crossing under the Beltline overpass turn right onto Golden Gardens, across from the Fire Station. Take Golden Gardens to the end and make a slight left. Park along the side of the road, next to the park's entrance.
What To Bring: Bring a warm jacket or sweatshirt, some water and possibly a camera. There is no fee to park there.
Well behaved dogs are welcome, but only on a leash.
