Byron "Doc" Stone is an Austin physician and a lifelong naturalist. He has been birding since about 1972. Byron is a former member of the TBRC (Texas Bird Records Committee) and immediate Past-President of TOS. He has been a state-wide and regional eBird reviewer since about 2009. He has taught classes and workshops on bird identification for Travis Audubon Society since 2001, with special interest in sparrows, raptors, gulls, shorebirds, and titmice. Doc has made two early-summer trips to southern Idaho, most recently in June 2018. He will share photos and video of some of the stunning scenery and exciting birds that can be found there, including Prairie Falcon, Ferruginous Hawk and Cassia Crossbill. Also, the winner of the 2019 VENT Camp Chiricahua Scholarship will be announced and will be introduced, if possible, at this meeting. Come early for a good seat and to meet old friends.
