Mindfulness is awareness of the present moment without judgment. When we practice mindfulness, we are able to fully experience the present moment instead of getting caught in ruminating about the past or worrying about the future. Practicing mindfulness meditation has had such a profound impact on my life that I feel passionate about teaching it to others as a practice for decreasing physical and emotional suffering and increasing peace, well-being and joy.
Research indicates that practicing mindfulness meditation can actually change the structure of your brain and result in increased awareness, attention, compassion, peace, and well-being and decreased emotional reactivity. Practicing mindfulness can reduce stress, anxiety, depression, and symptoms of a number of medical conditions including high blood pressure, cardiovascular disease, cancer, gastrointestinal disorders, fatigue.
Mindfulness meditation is a practice that can lead you on a beautiful and profound journey toward self-awareness and self-compassion. When you see yourself clearly, you have the freedom to choose something different than your habitual patterns. Practicing mindfulness meditation can help you to meet your life experiences with greater acceptance and less reactivity, thus resulting in greater peace, happiness and well-being.
Life is a beautiful journey. Practicing meditation can help you to be more present to enjoy it!
