Bring Up the Bodies - January 2013 meeting

The group will meet on Thursday 31 January at 7.30 pm at the Light Cafe, 48 High Street, Wimbleon. The book to read for this meeting is Bring Up the Bodies by Hilary Mantel, winner of the 2012 Booker Prize. Although this is second book in a planned trilogy, it also works as a standalone read. You are of course encouraged to read the first part as well if you wish, Wolf Hall.

The group meets towards the back of the restaurant and can usually be identified by the pile of books on the table! Looking forward to seeing regulars and first timers in January.

    Hiya

I am looking forward to tomorrow - I am going to pop to the National Portait Gallery first to get some postcards of the portraits of the main players (Master Secretary, Henry and whoever else I can find). Also are you looking for suggestions for Feb and March's books ? If so what did we agree about length and such ? See you tomorrow

    Kath

Hi Kath s- sorry not to see this earlier but can't wait to see what you get in terms of postcards. Tudor portraiture is so full of propoganda! We have a feb book, but yes, defo for suggestions for March. Length not an issue, hopefully, as there's two months to read. I was wondering about venturing into non-fiction.
