The Hololens Sundance premier of the David Bowie inspired “ Heroes (http://thomaswester.com/#/heroes/) ” explores how Mixed Reality can build embodied experiences. Thomas Wester (https://twitter.com/westert)will share lessons learned from building and exhibiting this unique Hololens experience.
The experience blends photogrammetry, motion capture, spatialized audio and spatial mapping to create an embodied experience. The design blends the disciplines of choreography, dance, theatre, game design and interaction design.
Thomas will cover the design thinking behind the experience, the technical approach and share learnings from exhibiting the experience at Sundance ‘17 and Unity Vision Summit ‘17.
Thomas Wester works as an independent creative and technical director. Over the last 15 years he has blended digital and physical to create meaningful interactive experiences. His ever curious, ever inquisitive nature results in a wide and deep knowledge of both the creative and technical process with regards to producing for the interactive medium. He has worked with The Royal Shakespeare Company, The National Archives, Library of Congress, Hermès, Coca Cola, Target, MoMA, MFA Boston and exhibited at Tribeca and Sundance Film Festival.
Also this month fellow member Sean Ong (https://twitter.com/sean_ong)will present a short 10-15 minute Member Conversation presentation on his experience working on a HoloLens project for a large construction and development firm in Dubai. He’ll talk about the project, some lessons learned along the way, and provide a sneak peek at the HoloLens experience he is developing. He will also share a few fun pictures from his trip.
