What we’re about
Do you enjoy wine? Are you interested in meeting new people? Do you want to expand your wine knowledge? Well then this is the place for you! Meetings will be held in different locations around Nanaimo on a Friday or Saturday evening. Depending on the turnout, a number of bottles of wine will be provided, all of which will be associated with a previously chosen theme, like new world vs old world Pinot Noir or California Cabernet Sauvignon. Having a selection of a similar varietal will provide the real opportunity to learn the subtleties of each bottle. Disclaimer, I am not a wine expert and am in this just to learn with others and meet new people. Depending on demand, a number of separate groups may need to be formed and additional hosts will be required to lead the groups. The primary objective will still be to have fun and if anything is learned, bonus! Absolutely no wine knowledge is necessary, only a desire to learn and have fun!

Wine Club presents Que Syrah Shiraz
6:30 – 8 PMWine Club this month is a sampling of Syrah from different countries. Paul Watkin from Seacove Group will taste us through five of Syrah’s different expressions. We will see how Syrah displays itself in a wide range of styles. From structured and meaty through elegant, peppery or bold, and finally, the full rich classic attributes.
Light nibbles will be served with the wines.
