Has it seriously been a year already? Last year on July 14th I started this group. It has been a blast meeting new friends from all over Los Angeles, not only enjoying good wine and food, but also fantastic conversations! 52 fabulous events later, here we are.
Chaya Downtown (http://www.yelp.com/biz/chaya-downtown-los-angeles) features a great happy hour menu. You can take the metro downtown and get silly drunk all you want. Then just hop back on the metro and go home to sleep :)
Bring your A-game, smile, good attitude and let's celebrate!
See you there -Sonya
"It's even better if you go during one of their Happy Hours. You essentially get double the HH menu. The izakaya menu includes yakitori skewers ($2-$3 ea), sushi rolls ($4-$7), sake sangria ($7), kirin ($4!!) and other goodies, including a muy delicioso take on Mexican corn ($5). Their regular HH has always been one of my favorites in DTLA, but I had to force myself to order from the izakaya menu since it's seasonal. With the lanterns hanging above and the feel of summer in the air, this place is a great reminder of how awesome DTLA can be."
"Chaya is another Happy Hour gem in DTLA! This Asian fusion restaurant has a modern decor, great ambiance, and friendly staff. If you're looking for a fancier HH spot then look no further, Chaya is your place! During HH you'll find a more business crowd here. Try and get there around 4:30 - 5pm because it gets pretty busy in the bar & cocktail area where they serve the HH deals.
HH Cocktails are $7, wine is $6, and beers are $4-6. Some of the noteworthy dishes worth trying are Kobe Melt, Spicy Tuna on crispy rice, Calamari, Chicken Karaage, and Prosciutto Sandwich. All equally delicious and worth every calorie."
