Spanish Wines-Part Uno

This month Diane is going to share part of her Spanish wine collection.  We will start in NW Spain and try several wines from a well renowned Spanish wine maker, Raul Perez.  Perez is known for his unusual wine making techniques such as aging his wines under water.

We will also try a few wines the regions of Priorat and Jumilla on the east coast of Spain. 

These are higher end wines, so the cost may be more than usual, but they will be a real treat to try.  These are the wines in the line up.  We may only do three of the four flights depending on how many people we have:

Flight 1: 100 percent Mencia

Vico, 2010; Raul Perez

El Pecado 2009; Raul Perez

Flight 2

Caino (100 percent): Muti, Rias Baixas 2009; Raul Perez

Prieto Picudo (100 percent); 2009, Raul PErez

Flight 3: Jumilla

Las Gravas, 80 % Monastrell, 10 percetn Syrah, 10 percent Garnacha, 2009

Juan Gill, 100 percent Monastrell; 2010

Flight 4: Priorats (Pasanau)

Finca La Planeta, 2006

El Vell Coster, 2006; Mazuelo 84 percent, 10 percent Cab, 6 percent Grenache
