Hi everyone,

Our grand cookout event is coming up two weeks from today – remember it’s on a Friday – at Diane’s place.

Our theme is “Zinfandel and Barbecue”, so please feel free to bring a bottle to share that fits the theme…!  We will discuss them all – at many different levels – no doubt.  It doesn’t have to be zinfandel, but it should fit the theme.

Our RSVP list is currently at 35.  If that holds up it will be the biggest event we’ve done, I’m pretty sure.  If your plans change, please update your RSVP so that we can plan for the right number.

Now, on to the food:

We are going to be getting barbecued chicken and beef at Fireflys in Marlboro, like we did last year.  That saves us from all the logistics of cooking lots of food at the event.  We will also be getting paper plates, napkins, etc. We will “pass the hat” for contributions to cover the cost of those things.

For everything else, we are asking everyone to bring something to pass.  We need:

                Appetizers

                Side dishes

                Desserts

                Other accompaniments for the meal (I think that means things like bread, coffee/tea.)

Please think about it and let me know via this email what you plan to bring during the next week.  I will coordinate it, so that we don’t wind up with 8 pasta salads and no potatoes, or 15 desserts and no appetizers.  Actually, if you state your preference and an backup dish, that would be better in case I have to shuffle things around. 

Please respond by next Friday, the July 5^th, and I will try to get all the confirmations out by Monday the 8^th.

So far I have Kim down for a dessert and Jane is bringing coffee and coffee-related items.

Let’s hope we have good weather for an outdoor event.  This will be a great event for all of us.
