RE: [AWS-Wine-Group-II] Re: AWS Hudson Chapter - Wine knowledge - Help the new wine people

These are the questions I remember having when I first started:

What is malolactic fermentation?  What does it mean to leave on the lees?  How is the Champagne method of fermentation different from other methods?  What does barnyard smell like?

Thanks for all your questions.

Remember your first wine tastings and the confusing wine terms and language ?
I am writing this eBook for those people. Please send me those questions you had during your first years. Any wine question is fair.

Thanks,
Michael (aka Mike)

Hello AWS / meetup members,
Hope your holidays were wine friendly and discovered new wines.

A bit of nostalgia. Looking back 6 years (no, I'm not resigning), we held our first meeting and they became a fun, informational source of great wines and socially interactive.  Very few groups could offer such a broad range of tastings plus education minus the sales pitch. We've had many great wine discussions related to tastings, winemaking, regions, styles, experiments, judging, food/wine pairings and much more. Our members created unique presentations that were educational,  wine friendly,  and hope we continue this tradition.

Last year was a year of firsts. As many of you know, I found contract work in San Jose,CA and while there,  discovered a wine school and passed the Certified Sommelier program. And at the AWS Conference, became a Certified Wine Judge. Wine research, education and especially forwarding this knowledge has been a major drive.

I have an offer.  Do you have burning (or smoldering) wine questions that need answers?  Maybe a question relating to viticulture, grapes, regions, winemaking, wine tasting, restaurant wines, wine service or food/wine pairings.

Well now is your time for answers!  I'm creating an e-Book based on your wine questions.  Submit 3 questions, and I'll compile those Q&A's  plus additional information discovered through my wine studies and in return, send a free e-Book. Anyone in the AWS Meetup community is welcome to submit questions. Any wine related question that needs an answer is fair.  I promise to keep your names/emails anonymous and of course, not sell them to anyone.

Please send your questions to [address removed] .  I can only hope this eBook answers your questions and provides information to others.

Thanks,
Michael (aka Mike)
