Learn about twig, composer & silex!

The twig, composer and silex meetup was postponed due to the presenter BECOMING A DAD (w00t!), however I think it would be great to get a chance to learn more about modern PHP.

I'm offering to open up the SkullSpace classroom and sponsor in some pizza for this. That way we can follow along on our laptops.

I really enjoyed Chris' presentation. Well done! Being both a PHP and a Ruby coder it's nice to see that many of the ideas that I enjoy in the Ruby world are making their way into PHP culture. Having worked with similar tools in Ruby, I feel that it's important to address the potential downside of these tools. What I've always liked about PHP was it's simplicity/immediacy, so it's worrisome to see so much *accidental* complexity added by way of the toolchain. (By accidental complexity I mean complexity that isn't essential to actually building web apps.)

Anyway, I'd love to discuss this topic with you folks at a future meetup. I'd also be up for presenting an intro to Ruby/Rails for PHP coders. Peace.

Great presentation, covered the basics of all of the listed technologies with a nice introduction into how to use each of them!

Hello again PHPers. Stoked to present tomorrow! The presentation should be fairly easy enough to follow along, so bring your laptops! You'll probably want to make sure you are using a UNIX-y (Mac, Linux etc) environment though, as we will be doing most of this on the command line! Windows just isn't very good for this kind of stuff, in my experience. YMMV though.

    See you all tomorrow night!

Hey everyone! Looking forward to presenting! Hope to see everyone there. Please keep heckling, rabble-rousing and horseplay to a minimum.
