This group meets weekly on Wednesdays from 7 - 8.30 pm in Wokingham. It works as a group analytic psychotherapy meeting. We now have 6 people in the group who have committed to a weekly meeting on an ongoing basis. There is currently room for 2 more members.
The group is explicitly therapeutic for personal development, and I am the group conductor. I qualified as a group analyst at the Institute of Group Analysis in London, the premier organisation in the country for training in group psychotherapy.
The aim of the group is to develop a deeper understanding of ourselves in group and social terms (including of course our own family), and enable us to make profound and lasting developments in managing our feelings, social interactions and well-being.
This kind of group does not have a stated task, it is about interaction between group members in the here and now using a free flow of conversation, which can help us uncover a great deal about our patterns of emotions and behaviour, both helpful and unhelpful.
