Two more notices for the upcoming week

1. I'm on 8th Light's next panel about Race, Ethnicity and Programming
this Friday May 18 at noon. I also have a list of questions that I
will bring along tomorrow night, but they're fairly similar to
questions addressed to the previous panel, so we've already had the
opportunity to discuss most of them.
RSVP here:

2. I'm also giving a talk about Meteor.js at Chicago JavaScript Meetup
next week, on Tuesday May 22.
Meteor is the first open-source full stack platform for developing and
deploying end-to-end JavaScript applications. In my opinion, it's a
major leap forward in simplifying the development of real time
multi-user web applications (like Google Wave, Etherpad). During the
talk, I will quickly go over Meteor - where it came from, what it is
capable of today, and where it seems to be headed. I will also do a
code walkthrough and demonstration of a project implemented in
Backbone and Meteor.
