1st sunday / monthly women's ride

join us for our first monthly meet-up all women's ride.
we'll meet at the cannery at 10:30- and plan to leave no later than 11:00

since this is the first organized ride- we're going to start small, and since we are hoping to recruit new/novice riders- i am giving lot's of details so you know what is planned.

if everyone is in agreement with distance and difficulty we'll leave the cannery and head up to branciforte drive and work our way up the back roads to felton- then up felton empire road to empire grade - out to the end of the road at the lockheed gate, and stop for a photo (not right by the gate or they'll arrest us!)    : )

this is about 25 miles of riding.  (the whole ride will be about 65).
it is mostly quiet, winding, well-paved roads through the redwoods.

then we'll head back down to pine flat road and make our way down to highway one- for lunch in davenport.  it's five miles of open highway (which can be busy and windy) to davenport.   there are two options for lunch in davenport- i'l leave that up to a group vote.  (one is pricey, the other not as much)

after lunch - i figure people can opt to ride back to town together or not-  if you want to blast down the coast to santa cruz - it's about 11 miles of open highway.  the other option is to back track the way we came- or an alternative mountain route... more practice on the curves.  it's up to you.

if we head back the way we came (obviously) it's about a 65 mile round trip from the cannery.   depending on how much time is spent lunching and getting to know each other-  this whole thing should be about three hours- max.     (??)    so, i'd guess we'll be done by 2 pm (unless everyone is enthusiastic and we decide to ride more!)

i am open to input, ideas, and suggestions.  not set on anything- just trying to get some women together to ride!     please let me know if you have any questions, suggestions, or comments.   hope to see you the first sunday in april!

Great women. They are very competent riders and easy going. Thank you for a great ride.
