Christmastime in London is MAGICAL! *View the ‘Changing of the Guard’ at Buckingham Palace then visit the huge Christmas tree at Trafalgar Square. *Cruise down the Thames past Big Ben, the Tower of London, iconic bridges and all the way to Greenwich. *Marvel at massive London department stores like Harrods, Selfridges, and Liberty all decked out in their Christmas finery. *Get groovy at Carnaby Street. *Stroll (and shop!) the Christmas Markets at Covent Garden, Greenwich Village, and the stalls set up along the Thames. *Take a special Christmas tour of Charles Dickens’ house and a silent walk through the home of a 17th Century Huguenot family all ready for the holidays. *Wander through a magical wonderland at Kew Gardens (with over 1 million twinkling lights!). *Have a guided tour of iconic Westminster Abbey and go to Evensong at St. Paul’s Cathedral. *We’ll also see special Christmas exhibits at the Museum of London, the Victoria & Albert Museum, and Kensington Palace. **You even get a free day to do your own London thing but I’ll always be available for ideas and provide assistance. Food is always a special part of the holidays. We will feast on traditional meat pies and mulled wine. We will enjoy a holiday afternoon tea and have a pint at a pub done up like like a giant Christmas tree. We will eat lunch in a church’s crypt and savor dinner at Jamie Oliver’s Italian restaurant. Professional photographer, April Bielefeldt will be on hand for those who want to up their photography game, whether you use your phone or have a ‘real camera’. She’ll lead special morning and evening jaunts to catch the sunrise over the Thames and evenings ablaze with Christmas lights. (These special excursions are included in the price!) Last but not least, we will experience a real Christmas Panto. A Pantomime is a musical comedy stage production full of comedy and audience participation.
