DevOps Theory vs. Practice: A Song of Ice and TireFire

innoQ Deutschland GmbH

Hi everyone, we missed you dearly over the Winter break, and we are very excited to start 2019 together with you ♥ To kick off our 5th year of activity, we picked a whole new focus: DevOps! And we got the best way to glimpse into it with a great speaker who will shed some light on what really goes behind the scenes. Come with questions, business cards and an open mind, make friends and take the first steps in making 2019 an awesome year for you! There will be swag. ★ THE TALK ★ In many DevOps talks, you see a speaker from a renowned tech company stand up and describe a perfect utopia of an environment. You look at the perfect environment and dedicated hordes of senior engineers they describe, and you despair of ever getting to that point. Your environment looks nothing like that. Surprise! Their environment doesn't really look like that either! In this talk, a speaker from an unnamed tech unicorn describes their amazing environment-- and then what they just said gets translated from "thought leader" into plain English for you by an official DevOps translator. Stop feeling sad, everything is secretly terrible! ★ THE SPEAKER ★ Baruch Sadogursky (a.k.a JBaruch, also @JBaruch on Twitter) is the Head of Developer Relations and a Developer Advocate at JFrog. His passion is speaking about technology. Well, speaking in general, but doing it about technology makes him look smart, and 17 years of hi-tech experience sure helps. When he’s not on stage (or on a plane to get there), he learns about technology, people and how they work, or more precisely, don’t work together. He is a CNCF ambassador, Groundbreakers Ambassador, and a professional conference speaker on DevOps, Java and Groovy topics, and is a regular at the industry’s most prestigious events including various JAX events, DockerCon, Devoxx, DevOps Days, Velocity, OSCON, JavaOne Qcon, and many others. ★ THE AGENDA ★ 19:00 – 19:30 – Networking over Drinks and Snacks 19:30 – 19:45 – WTM Kicking off[masked]:45 – 20:45 – DevOps Theory vs. Practice: A Song of Ice and TireFire / Baruch Sadogursky 20:45 – 21:30 – Networking ★ THE VENUE ★ INNOQ is a technology consulting company. When preparing for an interview you are going over your CV, listing your achievements, thinking of your strong and weak points, and going over some technical questions. And then comes the question - what is your salary expectations? Let's focus on that one question: how to know how much you want? how to negotiate it? should you ask for 20% more because it will be negotiated? maybe 40% more? should you compromise for 30% less because you really want that job? how to convince the other person you deserve more? For all this and more, join our panel! We have some amazing ladies who will discuss these questions, share their experience and give valuable tips. ★ THE SCHEDULE ★ 18:30 - 19:00 Networking over drinks 19:00 - 19:15 Welcome words 19:15 - 20:00 Panel 20:00 - 20:45 Q&A from the crowd 20:45 - 21:30 Networking over drinks ★ THE SPEAKERS ★ ★ Ela Krief, VP of Partnerships and Coaching Lead @Adikteev Ela has more than ten years experience working in startups as a business operations and sales professional.
