  • Annual WVSA Getaway Weekend

    Needs a location

It's time for the Annual WVSA Getaway Weekend! This year, it'll be 27-29 September (Fri-Sun). We've had tons of fun in our past getaways. We're still trying to decide our destination for 2019. We created a Poll for you choose between a few different options. For the Poll: Go to the main WVSA page on meetup. Click on 'More', then click on 'Polls'. Choose as many as you want. The poll will close on 1 June to allow us time to make reservations and all of the plans. This Getaway Weekend is for paid members only. WVSA will research, do all of the leg work, and even pay for a portion of the weekend (for example: the wine tastings, the food tour, etc)... but you will be responsible for paying for your hotel/B&B, food, as well as your own transportation to/from the location. As the time gets closer, we will tell you what the plans are, how much you owe, the deadlines for payment, etc. Don't worry...we won't leave you hanging :-)

The route is 1 1/2 miles long, but there will be some wait time to start, plus there's the walk back to the start point where you parked. Parade Route: The parade route is down Houston St. It will end at Milam Park. It is 1 ½ miles long. We will walk back to the start point. Feel free to have someone pick you up at Milam Park. Staging Location: TBD - Will be updated when we get closer to the event. Time: 1100 – All of WVSA must be staged and in position. 1200 – Parade will begin Note – Parking is tricky.
