If you are comfortable with essential React concepts such as components, state vs. props, and JSX but are looking to up your game, the next step is design thinking in React. This talk will cover React patterns that emerge from it’s compositional nature. We’ll discuss what it means when we talk about the component hierarchy, we’ll break down what Higher-Order Components are, and uncover the abstraction behind these designs. You’ll leave with a deeper understanding of the functional programming paradigms that are present in React and how to use that to write cleaner code with fewer side-effects in React

About our Speaker
Anna Sedlar is a consultant and instructor at Big Nerd Ranch. As a web developer, she is preferential to React when choosing a front-end javascript framework, but thinks a strong understanding of javascript will carry a developer further than learning any one particular framework. When she’s not in front of a computer, Anna is either hiking in the woods or traveling in search of the next best cup of coffee.
