Ageism and Non-Traditional Backgrounds in Tech Panel Discussion

The fear of being discriminated against in the tech industry due to age is common for people hoping to transition into a web development career. Even existing coders may fear their options narrowing as they grow older. Unfortunately, ageism in the tech industry is a real thing, but it doesn't have to stop you from achieving your goals. Life experience is often in short supply in tech companies, and there are many different types of workplaces, so it's possible to find the right fit with enough searching.

Join us for a panel discussion about combatting both the fear and reality of ageism in tech with a group of developers who are not fresh out of college, but who still build amazing websites and apps. A moderated panel session will be followed by audience Q&A, so bring the questions on your mind as you enter the job hunt (or continue evolving your career).

This event is being co-sponsored by Women Who Code Seattle ( and the Seattle University School of New and Continuing Studies ( Attendees will receive one free drink ticket.

The panel will be moderated by Nancy Jensen, CEO & Co-founder of the Swing Shift (
