In honor of black history month (even though the actual book club will be in March) we will be reading Kindred, by Octavia E Butler.
"The first science fiction written by a black woman, Kindred has become a cornerstone of black American literature. This combination of slave memoir, fantasy, and historical fiction is a novel of rich literary complexity."

I have to make reservations for a certain amount, and there are always many no shows which means we're taking up table space that we didn't need.
