Let’s face it; pursing a career in entertainment is no easy task. Some times you may feel like you are spinning your wheels when you are trying to make your film and you run out of funds. It is easy to feel like you are wasting your time when you can’t get any interest in your script or you have taken several meetings and nothing has come of it. There may even be times when you sat and stared at your outline feeling defeated before you even started because you couldn’t see the possibility of a positive outcome. Let’s not forget those of you who have inked a deal for your script or got your show optioned. You thought, this is it! This is the one that puts your name on the map!!! Only to have the deal fall apart or sit on the shelf for eternity.

That is why I asked Shelly Ehler to speak to our group. Although she is not a filmmaker some of you may recognize her from Shark Tank, where she displayed her product “ShowNo Towel” and was the only entrepreneur in 11 seasons of the show to leave with a check in hand. I heard her speak at the PowHer Summit and I was inspired by her story.

Shelly is an innovative entrepreneur who took a simple idea, believed it with all her heart and brought it to life. Her product was featured on The View, The Today Show, and Good Morning America. It was sold in major theme parks such as LEGOLAND, Sea World, Six Flags Magic Mountain and Disney World. Even with all the success and attention of her product, Shelly soon found herself back at square one starting over.

Shelly is also an inspirational speaker who welcomes any opportunity to spread hope. She openly shares her story of winning and losing and the many lessons she learned along the way. She is also a certified life coach and her mission is to enlighten, empower and inspire her clients to live their best life possible. It is her passion to teach gratitude, kindness and forgiveness to anyone who will listen.

She still runs her towel company, which has recently partnered with the Special Olympics and her new mission is "To assist those who need assistance and wrap them in love".

If you are in need of a boost of confidence or just need to push past that mental block that has you not finishing your script or film, then you do not want to miss this MeetUp with Shelly. You will definitely leave inspired.
