In the age of open web it’s important to understand how you as an individual developer can protect your intellectual property. In this talk we cover simple strategies to protect the fruit of your genius - both in the workplace and (especially) in your passion projects on the open web. This will be a practical talk for all types of developers: we’ll dive into how you can use licensing, when you should copyright and things like code comments and structure can impact on whether your claim to intellectual property on a product. There will not be legalese. There will be github puns.
