The older we get, the more we understand that the women who know and love us – and love us despite what they know about us – are the joists that hold up the house of our existence. Everything depends on them. Anna Quindlen, Lots of Candles, Plenty of Cake
Do you find yourself thinking about all the friends you’ve had and the ones you hope are right around the corner? It’s awkward to make new friends as an adult. As life changes, our friendships change too. That’s why this group was formed. We are a group of women who love reading and socializing, as P.G. Wodehouse notes, ‘There is no surer foundation for a beautiful friendship than a mutual taste in literature.’
Our goal is to form new friendships among a diverse group of women. We laugh, we eat, we talk about books and then veer off into discussions that often have nothing to do with the book. Just like life, we don’t always stay on track.
We do have a few guidelines...
Please use a current photo for your profile, this is to ensure you are who you say you are.
In order to keep meet up costs minimal, the size of the group is limited to active members. New members should attend at least one event within the first three months of membership. This is a security measure and we'd also like to meet you.
As a courtesy to the hostesses, we ask that members cancel their RSVP within 48 hours of a meeting. We understand that occasionally there are unforeseeable events that do not allow for this timeframe, but please change your RSVP accordingly. Two No Shows in a row and you will be removed from the roster.
We have a No Solicitation/Self-Promotion policy. We do not schedule parties with the intent to sell goods or services, take part in multi-level marketing activities or post messages promoting or advertising businesses.
